Places to play Non Texas Hold em poker

List Author: roadwarrior17
Description: It is no secret that texas hold em(no limit in particular) has swept over vegas casinos. However, before the texas hold em boom, games like 7 card stud, Omaha and 27 triple draw were as popular. Being an all around card players requires one to be skilled at all games, here is a list of where to play these games and the usual limits
  • Orleans - Great off strip casino with a big room. The consistantly spread 4/8 omaha hold em with a 1/2 kill
  • Mirage - Mirage spreads a 10/20 stud game and higher, mixed games can be found on busy weekends and tournament times
  • Bellagio - Bellagio spreads a 20/40 and higher stud game. They also spread a 30/60 Omaha game on a reasonably daily basis. Games flux due to demand but you can always find a game as long as you have the bankroll. The mixed game here is often on weekend and it includes 27 Triple Draw, usually it is a 40/80 structure. Like the mirage, weekeend, tournaments etc cause game and limit deviation.
  • El Cortez - If you are looking to learn stud, the tez spread a 1/3 game on a consistant basis. YOur lungs are in for a workout as the casino as well as card area is loaded with smoke.
  • Plaza - This is the only place in the city and maybe in the whole state where you find Pan Spread. If you want to learn more about this game, google it. Talking to Ken, the card manager at the Plaza…”they are brutal, they are out for blood.” I am sure the game limits are low but like any game you are a novice at, you are more likely to lose against more skilled players.
  • Station Casinos - When the players are present, a 4/8 Omaha game can be found at boulder or sunset station. I would not reccomend either of these places as I have always found the action a little stale there. Many locals who have played for years and know the game.
  • Tuscany - The urban legend is that they spread a 4/8 HORSE (Holdem, Omaha, Razz, Stud, and Stud 8better) on weekends. THey say they are the only ones that spread it but I have gone in there and never seen it going. Would be worth checking out if you want to play lower limits and play a different game every half hour.
  • Ballys - Bally’s is the proud casino which spreads pineapple tournaments during the week. Check website for the days. Pineapple is a varation of holdem where you are dealt 3 cards and must discard 1. Again, google for any more info.
